The Star Trophy Season Long Points Competition for Senior & Junior Competitors
THE COMPETITION
This prestigious competition was first introduced in 1973 and is a season long points competition for Senior and Junior Competitors in Clubs/Racing Teams within the Merseyside area of the British Cycling North West Region.
CONDITIONS
1 The competition is a season-long series known as the LIVERPOOL ECHO STAR TROPHY.
2. The competition is open to members of affiliated clubs/racing teams in the Merseyside area of the British Cycling North West Region.
3. Allocation of qualifying events will be decided annually by the Series Coordinator.
4. All events listed on the schedule are eligible, but riders in both competitions are limited to their best six places.
5. For each event missed due to selection for Regional or National Teams, qualifying riders will be Awarded points equivalent to 6th place (see table below). It is the responsibility of riders to claim these points by notifying the Series Coordinator, in writing before the final event of the series.
6. In those qualifying events listed for the Junior Star Trophy Competition when senior categories are included, only junior riders will qualify for points.
Regional C+ events where Elite riders are eligible to ride and the distance is over 60 kms the first six Juniors finishing within the first twenty places of the overall result of the event will be eligible for points. When the event is under 60 kms only the first three juniors will gain points finishing within the first twelve places of the overall result.
In Regional A events the first three juniors finishing within the first ten places of the overall result will count for points in this competition.
For Regional B events only the first three juniors finishing within the first six places of the overall result of the event will be eligible for points in this competition.
7. Prize values will be presented at the conclusion of the competition, date and location to be advised.
